There is no discrace in getting beaten by one of the two greatest cosworths ever IMO. The other being that Blue one from norway that he binned. I'll add Martins to that list when its done!

what why would it ???

it would prob do 200mph if there was enough room

think rod gonna try for over 210mph in the dry, try and win TOTB (well top speed bit) then retire it

rather than spending 2k on stock parts, why not uprate a few internals. Uprated clutch wouldnt cost much, surely less than a gas kit. no point having the power if you cant put it down properly.

escort has a much lower drag coefficient

i'm sure someone said he wanted more power and to retain the record longer

Indeed - he's a cock - last week they showed footage of him at Goodwood where he kept stalling the new Maserati Birdcage until it's battery was flat.
COCK COCK COCK!

Mr shed should have towed him behind the Sapphire on his face

Sadly no - Escort weighs the same and is less aerodynamic at high speed.

They were built for rallying rather than track use, and to utilise short gearing and high downforce at relatively low speeds.

Too true - they are a bit silly.

For a start they chose a car with a notoriously weak transmission - it didn't even make it home the day they bought it.
It had to be trailered almost immediately.

I thought it would be fated from the start, and sadly I was proven right.

They should have opted for a Cosworth or a Cerbera or a Skyline.
