Surely if he has the knowledge to do an engine conversion then he might have a bit more of an idea about whats wrong?

You should be able to do the EML paperclip test, because of the Age of the engine?

There is nothing wrong with the engine, the X16XE is a fiddly little git to get started and running perfect due to all the different sensors etc.

If it starts (does it tick over?) then your 3/4's of the way there.

Brake servo needs to be plummed in as it has air going through it I believe. Not sure if that would effect the car running though.

Your dizzy pack is on the RHS of your engine, where your spark plugs are leading into.

Did you check the plugs yet? What colour are they at the tip and are they all sparking?

If your eml is off now, there is no need for the paperclip test, all it does is tells you a code related why the light was on.

I think the main reason for it sounding noisey now is the exhaust blowing.... i have no eml light anymore engine is pretty smooth on idle.... so its not looking to bad after it got to me big time earlier Thanks for all the help

another place that could be leaking air is the pipe from the inlet to the air flow meter. Just another thing to check if it starts to run lumpy again.
