So lets prepare for the worst.

What happens if he tries to say he wont sell it me for the auction price? Its a legally binding contract? right?

Anyone been in the same/similar situation?

The Auction states that the car's located in Beijing, doesnt matter where he's based really does it? He also says he wont ship or post the item, so in order to collect it you need to go to beijing, then drive it back .

Really he's done nout wrong, and being as you bid, your not entitled to a refund.

As with all Ebay auctions, Ethics and morals are lost in favour of "legally binding bids", and you've just bought yourself a corsa on the Orient .

A Corsa in Beijing? With a Ford escort van behind it?

Fair enough. If he wants to ship it out to Beijing I'll go collect it from there

Must've cost him a lot though to get both the cars & the authentic looking English looking terrace house all the way out there to take the pic. I hope he enjoys his £10.50

if he does then good on him. However, Im afraid it does seem a bit dodgy - a teacher at my old college got conned for an iPod - paid £150 for an "iPod" turned out later he'd just brought the instruction manual! Problem is that it had been worded really carefully Hope this isnt the case with the Corsa or that you havent just brought some random persons tax and MOT or sumthin. Will be keeping an eye out for updates on this post!

ok, from looking at that site a bit, i think its chinese people living in the UK.
so i'm guessing the ebay seller person is living here and has a car for sale.

Read the item description

Normally the "con" items have a really long worded item which goes into detail. Idea being that you stop paying attention by the end of the description & miss the bit where it says you're bidding on only the "manual/picture/etc"

This description is kept short & sweet. Plus the item did have a "but it now" option which was set at £3000

I doubt he'll let it go tbh. The item location is probably carried over from previous listings which were imported stuff or something like that, he's just forget to change it.

It certainly seems by his feedback that he doesn't bother with rules too much if he doesn't like the outcome of the auction.
