if you wanna get a lizard as a pet, beardies are the ones to have.... sooo much fun.
IVe had geckos, crested geckos, and other lizards but these are by far the best fun.
i also have a chameleon, i will take photos of him shortly...

What VX Girl has said is about right, but it mainly depends on what size tank you have.
I have quite a big tank which takes quite a bit of heating. at the top left of the tank i have a tubular heater (about 30cm long), im gotta get round to putting a stat on this, but not done it yet.
I have a 120 large bulb at the same end too, with beardies the temp needs to be between 100-110f, at the hot end and about 85-90 at the cooler end. 2 thermometers would tell you this.
Definatly go for beardies tho

i've always used ceramic heat emitters as they give off no light and a pulse proportional thermostat. anyone else use this setup?? had an infra red setup on 24/7 for my boa because they couldn't see the light. my room always felt like amsterdam.

i heard that with leopard geckos, do not need a uv light as long as the have a supply of grated cuttlefish available at all times. Is this true?
