PMSL @ a civic being "upmarket"
Its a japaneese astra FFS.
Leons are mint, Clios meant to be fantasic hatches.
Astra is turbo so much tuning potential, they are quite rare (unlike CTRs) so id say leon or astra!

Leon cupra R works for me, smoked look 18" wheels, huge Brembro brakes and either 210 or 225bhp as standard with potential for LOTS more
just a taster

Astra GSi. They are the best looking IMO and come with plenty of goodies. Also like the fact that they are pretty rare.
Leon is very nice but has 4 doors so I personally wouldn't get one unless I needed the practicality.
And CTRs are just plain ugly...

in my opinion astras are just soo bland looking, nie engine etc but rathr a leon cupra r,
prob with leon cupra r is the inside is a bit bland and black.
id personly go for a CTR, people say common etc prob just becasue there better than astra GSi, the drving position is better, the gearchange is better, the engine is a one of the best NA 2.0s u could get and th sound of vtec is awesome, i know il get cianed for saying that as its vaux forum but most people who have hate the CTR havent even driven one.

CTR if caught off guard are slow as heck. Have raced many.
Raced a leon off guard and he very nearly beat me!
Leon tuneable too, remap gives something silly for little expendature.
Civic's are gunna be reliable, but Vtec is not what id say is suited to day to day driving conditions, BUT this can add to your wallet as MPG will be better
Go and drive them all and see which you prefer id imagine the insurance costs will differ a fair bit. Do some more research!

That cant be right! I thought it was more like 6.9 - 7 seconds for the CTR! Maybe Im wrong, suppose it depends which site you look at.

He said on a straight, not 0-60....when they are rolling the Leon's quicker.
Also depending on the driver the leon is a quicker car, trust me. Been up against many CTR's all with the same outcome. I was even chatting to one of the drivers at every red light about the cars.

these comments are not helping, everyone has mixed views the only thing to do now is go test driving them all. will go test drive 3 cars this weeked coming:
Astra GSi
CRT
Seat leon
then see what i like. insurance is going to be the cheapest on the astra, which might play a big part in it too, and if anything went wrong on the astra, im familiar with the vauxhall layout/engine.

I honestly don't think you would be dissapointed with any of the cars but I went through this same dilema when I got the Leon. (I had an Ibiza Cupra R before the Leon)
I test drove them all and the Meganne 225.
In the end I came to these conclusions:
The Civic was an awesome handling car, but you have to rev the bollocks of it to go anywhere quickly and I love torque as had a 1.8t for my previous 2 engines.
The Meganne was quick, but just dull inside and didn't like renault build quality 1 bit.
The Astra was....nice, very nice, but just didn't have the same practicality and look I wanted from a car in the end.
The Leon, did everything I wanted it to do. Big boot for Sub/amp + other thing, 4 doors yet fun to throw around. Looks nice (esp in Platinum grey ), goes really well, seen an indicated 150mph on my clocks before now, optional recaros are seriously nice and comfy too. Oh and for around £500 you can be pushing out nearly 300bhp and 300lb/ft!!!
Andy, it's all down to your own choice and the way you drive. I'll never go back to N/A engines now. I love turbos power delivery too much! When your on MSN later or whatever gimme a shout.
Hope this helps maybe?!?!

^^^ cheers mate for that i dont like the idea of revving the tits off a car everytime i want power. i want it there from the word go. which turbo gives. if the seat was a 3door, would be a bit better.
there is a few cars in this league to choose from, its hard
will just have to look at them all, and see which one i like driving, advantages of each and disadvantage etc.
BTW what is ur MSN address again, have i got it?
