open the bonnet and smell, usually if the clutch is gone there will be a nasty smell, cant compare the smell to anything else.

Well I didnt smell anything at all when I went to see the car!
Starkie did say it could be the linkage, gears feel a wee bit lose did notice that before

i could be the linkage in the engine bay or where your gear leaver is, i remember losing my gears a while ago, and the actual part under the gear gaiter had sliped out.

When my car done this it was the main shaft inside the gearbox which came loose

Already had the gaitor up and had a look but cant see anything that loosk out of place.

karen.... i have a trailor with wich if you need a rescue.... 20quid should cover the petrol etc

if the linkage is loose, or off... its normally a wee pin thats come out.... look in the lower left (looking in to engine bay) for the gearbox, you should see the linkage there

Hmmmm maybe not then! Will still be in my bed not long in from town!
