To be fair, if your insurance were to say they are going to write it off it may be easier to accept the money and get a new car and possibly buy it back and sell the parts

why do you think you dont some of those parts?
you say you dont need a new front wheel or tyre but by the look of it you do? or did you mean you dont need the garage to get it for you as you'll get it yourself?

If you know what parts you need then right them all down and price them yourself then you know you are getting what you want

If it were me I'd look around Ebay ,classifieds on car forums and car salvage websites like Simpsons Salvage and buy all the parts then do as Lee said but not a backstreet garage

They are just doing what you would expect, before the accident the wheel wasnt as damaged so they replace it, the bumper could be repaired but before the accident the bumper was fine so instead of repairing it they will replace it. Its a good thing really. ya dont want a car with allot of bodged repairs ya want all new parts where necessary. Its the hidden damage that costs the most. I had some one hit my rear offside quarter on my GSI. looked like panel damage but it needed new rear Axle, the innder bodywork was bent the boot floor was bent etc etc. Take the money the car will never be the same again specially if ya do it on the cheap

IMO you have 2 options, either find a smaller backstreet garage that can do the repairs for you(would prob be less than hafl your quote) or stick the car on ebay as is, reckon you would still get 1500 as is....
take it your not fully comp??

Not fully comp mate, otherwise I wouldnt be so bothered. Been to my local garage, they reckon looking at it they can do the job for under £1000, they will get back to me, meanwhile they are going to make a few calls and try and source second hand parts.
Spoke to the estimater, he only wanted a new bumper cos it had some webbing behind it apparently, i couldnt see, he said if you hit something else it will break, i said id like to think i wont hit anything else lol. He wanted me to get a new door for a small scratch and pay for half the car to be sprayed to match the paint work. I asked if they would be prepared to fit second hand parts if i sourced them and they said no. They also wanted me to buy a new l/r wheel which wasnt even damaged!

i said to you last night mate expect £1300 just for labour
i want to know what they charge you for under "miscelanous" 20 bensons and a few coffees?
Your paying for the work so you tell them what you want done!
Generally an accident and repair centre will "repair" stuff, not bin it and fit a new one
