Fair enough, i stand corrected but im not having that either a 1.4 or 1.6 sport are noticably quicker than a VTR.

Sport is 975. and yes the better engine is in the Vauxhall. it is more dynamic through the rev range, and creates peak torque and holds it better than the Saxo

I have driven a vtr. I can fell a slight bit of difference when flooring it. My gsi gets a sudden kick at 5k revs. I had a chav cut me up in a vtr so I floored it and had to ease of slightly so the gsi def had a very slight advantage but that was at quite a high speed

One thing I would say is when they go wrong, they go wrong. Mates got one as a first car and he is still learning so not like he is caining it. Gearbox problem (fell apart) and clutch. 750 quid later lol thats an R reg and one of the many problems he has encountered.

I have driven both. Basically, The VTR felt much better in first through to 3rd and around thw twisties. Once the sport hit about 4k that when it felt better than the VTR.

The VTR starts to los out at 70-80

End of the day the Saxo is made from cardboard and feels so flimsy and has a poor interior. Rather go that bit slower round the bends, have a better looking car and have a car that has the option to switch the foglights off (although I dont have foglights yet )

right, lot of bollocks talked in one thread here

couple of points, as i used to be the first person to knock these, after driving fads bros it change my iopinion completey

1) what ever the 100bhp is (vtr ?) feels quicker than a sport 1.6

2) they handel far far better than any corsa including mine ive driven, they piss on a standard one

3) people who knock the build quality, WTF do you expect, its a small light french hatchback, its hardly goign to be built liek a merc is it

i know that there is allways going to be some corsa tinted sunglasse wearers on here

but please, there a better car, just get over it

Arent the Saxo's based on the 106, which came about in 1991/2? Admittedly they had a facelift in 96ish when the Saxo was launched, but it will only have been cosmetic.
