I doubt it, not really a market you would aim at for a 20k car, not many chavs have that kind of money so wouldn't make very good business sense. Plus i can't see some little japanese bloke up at honda actually knowing what a chav was.

They design cars to appeal to certain groups who will be able to buy it, since chavs are mainly related to the lower working class, I feel you should eat some GTTextF pie.

Love the rear lower lip on the car.. It kinda reminds me of the Nova GTE, with the lump in the middle

this car IE the civic is changing the face on honda. It means so much to them.
I was talking to the marketing director and he was saying this is the first honda to make front cover of ANY magazine for the right reasons.

cool, one of Honda's targets with the new civic was to lower the insurance groups so that it would appeal to younger drivers and less of a pensioners shopping trolly, with radical styling like this Dorris mite be put off buying it to do her weekly shop.

What in the name of god is that? I think Ed's comment about it being a mid life crisis pretty much sums it up. They have gone completely over board with it, looks toilet. Theres being different and being down right stupid, the Megane Sport is different yet it WORKS, this is just a complete shambles.
Does it have a 200bhp engine with 12 lb/ft of torque like its predecessor?
And what idiot said it makes the Astra VXR look dated I would say a lot of companys especially Ford with the Focus ST have copied the VXR's styling, if you see a Astra VXR or any of the VXR range on the road it has emmense road presence.
If someone sees you driving the new CTR they will first vomit then giggle at you for being so pathetic.

...on a second inspection it actually looks like someone has stuck one of those god awful Delta kits on it, with the fluted skirts and massive air intakes and matching front and rear bumpers

exactly!
It looks like most over the top bodykitted cars - with loads of stick on tat!
If someone modded a car on this site and made it look like that they'd get the piss ripped out of them. I think this is a big mistake, because people will be put off by the chav factor of it - they don't want to look like they're driving a 'done up car' ... they want people to know they're driving a 'Standard Quick Car'.
If saw that and didn't know it was a Type R - I'd think some silly chav has stuck shit all over his car.

I don't think it was literally made for 'chavs' but that sorta person, the bodykitted fucking OTT (gotta do a wanker sign at them) type person. Yes in Japan they won't call them chavs, but japan are the kings of sticking on huge stupid bodykits on cars. It's why all these people started putting silly big agressive jap kits on Corsa's.
Either way - the style of sticking the most agressive, over the top piece of rubbish kit on a car - that's over the top busy and generally v.ASBO = a shit looking car.
If you wait and see it on Top gear - they'll laugh it out of the room on style, I bet.
Yes the old one was a bread van, but it was relatively subtle - did its job (quick / good handling) and that's all that mattered.
This one (I have no idea on handling / performance, sure it will be great) they've thought 'we've gotta make this appeal to the boy racer crowd' and that's just how it looks.
Imo the boy racer crowd are too busy sticking kits on their cars to buy one, in theory the boy racer crowd was all about making your car different from the rest.
Civic Type R's should appeal to the 25-35 age group with a steady average paid job.
In my opinion this will appeal to 15-25 year olds and that's only a selection that like chavvy cars.
