I have opted to take the 1.6 on throttle bodies route.
At the end of the day, just do whatever you want to do because threads like this very rarely get to a final agreement. Theres Pros and cons for both, some prefer one, some prefer the other.
Be a man and make you're own mind up

Do you know how heavy a c20xe is compared to a x/c16xe?

think of this thorectically, a 2.0 16v engine with the appropriate gearbox (F20) will be heavyier then a 1.6 16v engine with a F16 gearbox as the capacity of the engine is larger hence the more power in the first place....

HAHAHAHAHA
do you know what makes larger capacity? More space..... bigger holes.... less metal....
Its the fact the the engine is physically bigger etc that makes it heavier.... nothing to do with its extra capacity making it heavier

my 2.1 is lighter than a standard 2.0 though.....
so.... er.... there goes your argument.
Also a 2.0 fitted with TB's will be lighter than standard. The inlet and std TB is fairy heavy.

not really? i didn't mention a 2.1?....
and even if both were on throttle bodies the 1.6 would be lighter.
