You soon get bored though.
At first its like 'woah its quick' - then feels slow, you add a decat exhaust and filter and am like wow thats quick again. Then soon get bored and it feels slow.
I want some catcam 708's and a remap.

Bored ? it's like that with most cars though isn't it, it's a vicious circle, i went form a 1.2 8v corsa to the sri, and thought the same. guess it's just one of things.

Yeh, that and the fact my 4-2-1 manifold I just put on has added a load of torque to the bottom end but moved where it makes peak power down a bit (though probably the same or greater power) - now just feels a bit flat, where as before it used to come on cam and you could feel it get a rush on.

That'd see me around 162 bhp @ 7200 rpm. would suit me fine.

P.s. I managed to get the pic of the yellow car to work
http://photobucket.com/albums/e113/markussri/?action=view¤t=media.jpg
have to click the link - otherwise it didn't display (or copy and paste the link into a browser).
Not a fan of morettes, I like yellow - but personally wheels arn't to my taste, but if they are for you thats all

try clicking the performance stats and then type 106. figure is 8.2 to 60mph.
my 306 Gti-6 is 170bhp and gets to sixty in 7.1ish seconds, i'm yet to be troubled by a 106 gti (standard or modified)that can beat or even keep with me from standing so kindly shut your hole
your 306GTi is not as quick as that and the 306 is a heavy beast compared to the 106. therefore it is you that is going to STFU

For mark...

Not sure if you can view that.
quote:
106 GTI 1997 on a P plate.
MOT till Jan 07, taxed till end of April 06.
Mods include:
16' Superleggera in anthracite with Dunlop SP Sport 195/40 R16 (tyres have done less than 2k miles).
Bilstein Sprintline kit (springs and dampers) all round lowering it 35mm.
Full Pugsport Group N exhuast system with MOTORSPORT cat (will pass mot's with no problem).
Supersprint 4-2-1 manifold.
Viper Induction Kit.
Black Diamond grooved disc's all round with Black Diamond pads.
Group N lower engine mount.
Over the last 12months the car has had new:
Gearbox.
Clutch.
Alternator.
Drive shaft.
Map sensor.
Please feel free to PM or e-mail (jimb@thealloy.com) if your seriously interested or have any questions.
Grab yourself a bargin; £2495 ono.
Only downside in my opinion is white and cloth interior. If that's not a prob for you then that is a absolute bargain.
There's well over a grands worth of mods on that.
Bilstein sprintline suspension kit retails for about £380
Pugsport decat with motorsport cat about £340!
Supersprint 4-2-1 - £320.
Superleggas - £350? +
and the rest.
haha it's almost worth buying, taking the bits off selling them seperate and then selling the car for £2000.

162 bhp is highly unlikely unless your on a "quote me happy" rolling road.
I've only seen one non TB'd 106 Gti make that power but it made 135bhp when it was totally std and that was on a Dastek RR.
They normally make 157bhp with a filter/manifold/system/ 708 cams/remap but 150-160bhp is the norm.
708's normally make peak power around 7500-7600rpm not 7200rpm BTW.

is your pod time with your 4-2-1 on paul?
i ran a 15.01 at 90.1 in my vts with the a viper, chip, decat exhaust and 4-2-1, but never had it RR'd. wondered if your bhp was before or after so i could have a guess at what mines running before the cams and remap.
Great cars the gti's and vts ph2, only rear diff is you get leather on the later 106's and they hold value a bit better than a vts
