A guy near where I live got it the other way....
He was flying down a 30 limt, pissed, angry (argued with his Mrs). And the police reckoned he hit 100+.
Came round a slight incline with a bend, lost it and ended up taking out 6 rhino posts, and a sign which acted as a ramp, threw the car in the air.
He was thrown from the car as it smashed into the forecourt of a TVR/Lotus garage, taking out a few high priced cars on the way.
Paramedics said he would of been dead if he had his belt on!
Still no excuse, I always, always wear my belt.

OT but it pisses me off when people have those stoopid baby on board signs in the back
what are they hoping to achieve ? that everyone should drive 2 miles behind? that they should have priority on the road just cus of there stupid kid?
or are they just using it as a way to show off about there child

Steve they are informing you in advance, they may indeed drive like a twat and the driver probably is a moron.
On another note, next time im driving 100mph when pissed, i shall remember not to wear my seatbelt. Shame he didnt buckle up
Theres always someone who comes back with a "well this person would have been dead if they were wearing a belt" story. Well thats stupid.
The chance of the above happening are 1 in a million. Also if your going to drive like the bloke mentioned above then u deserve to die tbh.
Wear a setbelt. Its easy, and doesnt take 2 seconds out of your time and could save your life
I wont move my car if someone is not wearing their seatbelt. If the buckle up then we go

iv got No problem that ppl want to protect there child, and noone wants to kill a child, its just this idea that mothers get that everyone should drive around them just because they have a child on board

In the words of The Simpsons "I got one of those 'Baby on Board' signs so that people will stop intentionally ramming us"
The ammount of times you hear "The person would have lived if they were wearing thier seatbelt" far out weighs the ammount of times you heard "The person would have died if they were wearing a belt storys.

They should send people that don't wear belts a link to a site like ogrish.com, and let them see some unedited pics of what happens when you don't wear a seatbelt....might make them think twice

Saw a family car on the motorway the other day with two small children STOOD UP on the back bench. I was so shocked. Nothing I could do though! We was doing about 90. I pulled up next to him and shook my head.
Unbelievable.

If a car is in a bad accident, and somebody spots the "stoopid baby on board sign"... perhaps they may search for the baby(s) first?... Just a thought.

because if the car isnt badly damaged the baby will be easily spottable, if the car is a complete smash up and a wreck the sign is hardly gonna be still hanging there in a non existant rear window, and spotting the sign is going to be no more likely than spotting a baby

I'd still rather hang a "stoopid baby on board sign", just incase... You could run through all kinds of scenarios, ifs, and buts.. I'll take my chance WITH the sign. Cheers.
