VTS's are 7.9 standard, ive raced a 1.8 SRI in my Corsa and beat it by half a car length upto about 80 from 30, i would say they are quite nippy, im sure they can be tuned a bit too.

VTS/GTi would easily beat a 1.8 SRi as they weigh around 150kg less with around the same power.

Get a Dbilas inlet manifold, cam & ECU upgrade and you have 170bhp for around £1000 quid.
I am really suprised no one has done this yet.

Corsa will feel more sturdy and better built, paxo's etc willk be quicker by a bit on straights and round bends. I'd stilll rather the corsa tho I reckon.

I've got an Astra coupe with the same engine and it goes well enough.
I imagine that the Corsa being lighter than the Astra would be even quicker

I have a 1.8 Corsa C and I'm happy with it, although I have just found this.
Anyone had it done ? What do people think ?
Extra 20bhp should make some difference.

the main reason they have a slower 0-60 is because it wont do 60 in second were a vts will
my bird has a 1.4 and i have ragged it to death no way is it going to do more than 120 lol .
i did want a 1.8 sri for ages but then found a golf mk4 1.8 20v turbo wich was 100 more to insure but car was less to buyso i opted for that best bet have a test drive mate

Surely they can't quote 140 bhp if it doesn't give you that.
Its not superchips so what they say is irrelivent.

there is no "software" that will give you much gain on a n/a car with no other mods.
all the software can do is advance the timing as much as poss until pre ignition, but this is already set pretty much near to max as std anyway to provide maximum efficiency.
It does adjust a few other things but it will not really give you much benefit on a std n/a car
