pmsl. as broster will tell you, my car turned in like a beauty with a decent ARB on the front, and believe me, it used to handle like a bag of shit without it, no front end grip at all.

thats why you should have an ARB

the 1.6 will be better than the 2l, that is undeiable. i just dont feel the difference is as big as most folk make out. Unless you are really pushing it on the road, or doing a trackday you wont find it. Its 35kg ffs its a similar effect to having a full/epty tank of fuel, or a small chile moving around the car, yes you nitice it, but not all that much. Ill soon find out when i get mine on the road whether my suspicions are correct.

my nova handles a lot better without the arb, but then its smallbllock, and has fairly stiff suspension up front, so it doesnt roll even without. Difference is that it used to pick up the inside wheel round really tight back road stuff and now it doesnt, infact it tents to tripo int the rear a bit and oversteer slightly, which is unnerving for the uninitiated (my dad) but a lot of fun, and very quick when you get used to it.

Im going to try the corsa without iitially as i need to source a new clip for it, but if it doesnt feel right i might need to get one. which cars had the thick ones, gsis and? sports, sris?

i still 2ltrs arent as bad as ppl think, like broster says it all about throttle control.

i will give you a typical example,

take one xe corsa and go into a roundabout at 30mph in 2nd gear and floor it you will get alot of understeer and smoke pouring from driverside wheel. now try same exersize but use third gear you will find that coz of the torque of 2ltr you pull just as fast but u really dont get alot of understeer, well i dont think so not any worse than my small block engines anyway really.

throttle control goes along way, i just believe everybody puts 2ltr in and just rags the thing in low gears all the time and dont drive it to its full potential, need to remember u have torque now u dont need to drop it a gear all the time.

my c20let would spin in about 5th if i dropped the clutch at about 6k, but i dont. Also if you dont have a diff you are seriously missing out, they transform the way the car drives.

I never run arb on mine and never had a problem an i never suffered understeer on track an that was going into corners on boost in 4th.

factory fit ARB are to induce slight understear. As this is more desireable in the general population.

uprated ARB induces overstear.

Well I gave mine a bit of a test on saturday round a couple of tight chicane type bends off a roundabout. Fad didnt think a corsa could handle like that!

neither did I!!!!!!!!!!!!

Diff has made a LOT of difference to putting the power down more effectively aswell

i refuse to get involved in a debate on if the c20xe is better or worse than a 1.6

so you dont get understeer in a standard car then?

My corsa sport on decent suspension understeers.

My stock 205 gti understeers if pushed!

Removal of front ARB will reduce under steer, It will however reduce stability at high speed, however if your springs are of a higher poundage than the std frn ARB then it is doing nothing but add weight (of which a 20xe has plenty off anyway)

I dont however feel comfertable enough to remove mine my xe ahould be set up as follows soon:

FK highsports set to around -45mm all round
Whiteline 22mm rear ARB
std front anti roll bar
Tie bar dropped around 30mm
Powerflex Black wishbone/Tie bar bushes
ecentric top mounts set up to give a tiny bit of neg camber and loads of caster

My car also has a full cage which stiffens it up no end

Im fairley confident that in the dry handling will be spot on... In the wet however im not holding out much hope!!
