manual boost controller caused the problem was runing no over boost my fault totaly

I always find something interesting/curious about engines that have blown, i think it's just the shear power that has to be involed to disform metal that thick that always amazes me!

it mush have been hot seeing as normal crown temp is around 1200 degrees c

cos the injectors wont flow enough juice to dampen 1.1 bar of boost!
I regularly run 1.2 bar of boost in my Celica... think im going to turn the boost controller down a bit after seeing that though!

nothing wrong with a mbc if set correctly, ive been running one set a 18psi for donkeys years with 440cc injectors at 3bar, walbro 255ltr pump and custom fmic.
Never had a prob.

yea boost controllers are only ever as safe as the person setting them up / using it!

the amal valve aint what cuts the boost though, its the chip in the ecu, try using a mbc with a standard chip it will still boost cut anything over 12psi, it would have been worser with the amal valve as it would/could have been overboosting more over 16psi then drop off too around 14ish psi, i reackon there was a serious issue with either fueling, standard intercooler ect but he hasnt meanted wat was done toot he car too run 16psi so cant answer correctly.

if its not the amal valve that cuts the boost what is it then??
yes the chip says at what boost to cut at via the amal valve i was running a mbc wich was running no over boost was running 1.1bar constant. if id have had the amal valve conected if have got an over boost of 1.1bar and the it would have run at a constant of around .85

the standard boost chip cuts the boost when it detects its running more then 12psi, it does this by the vacuum feed that goes too the map sensor, dont matter if ur using a mbc or not, once chipped it wont cut boost no matter howmuch u run unless you have mis gapped plugs ect, i 2 lets of my own currently running fine and also done a m8s with no problems, the only thing thats cause ur engine too go pop is crap fueling, very hot intake temps in this weather which is why i hardly every boot it in this kind of weather with maybe standard intercooler but i dont know that due spec of this calibra not being posted except it was running 1.1 bar at 4bar fuel pressure, did it have fmic ect.

disconnet your amal valve mate, take the car for a thrashing, the turbo will spin up all the way til you change gear, j100 is right.
and , maybe i should get a new fuel pump for mine just incase! dont wanna end up doing that. from what i could see the other night after taking out my plugs and peering down with a torch, my pistons look nothign like that, maybe time to get the head off and check........

if amal valve is disconected how can it cut boost?? the amal valve is the waist gate solonoide all it can do is retard the timing as there is no electronic link to the turbo with the amal disconected
