No i mean he was fully insured and had a liscence and his own car. just drinking made it all go wrong.
It shows how well crumple zones work too, head-on impact at 40mph

4 times! how many units/pints is that?
the combined speed is like the average speed between both vehicles inst it so around 50-60mph?

no its the combined speed; its the velocity of advance between the vehicles - ie the rate at which the gap is reduced
if you think about it; for the seicento to sustain the damage it did if it was stationary - the vectra would have had to do in excess of 100mph to have the same impact speed
Bloody lucky though - all of you. Is Keiran okay, did he come away with any major injuries?

yeah thats the point; the impact speed is the combination of both vehicle speeds -in your case
40+60 = 100 mph
if you had been stationary the vectra would need to do 100 mph to have the same impact speed hence 0+100 = 100mph
thats why they say its like driving into a brick wall at 100mph

Thats a diabolicle(sp?) offer after all the things you have said in this thread, its a joke that they have offered such a silly amount, imo. especially after what happened with your wife

Not alot of money, probably the fact that you most probably caused the most amount of injury by not wearing a seatbelt
Still not your fault - and would have liked to have seen a stricter punishment.
