Would you say it is dangerous to have a car lowered at the front and not the back?

Sorry, but you never even took it for a test drive before you bought it? Are you mad?

hmmmm
paying for it and not test driving it, is not good.
but, if they put the mot on it themselfs and it is in unroadworthy condition then it doesnt matter if you didnt test drive it as they are breaking the vosa standards.

i have bought a car without test driving it and ended up paying £1400 to get a mot on it it failed on almost everything
but that was a chance i took, i understood it was sold as seen and i have no comback if stuff goes wrong with it

where as your car had a mot so therefore shud be at least roadworthy
get a inderpendant "good" trustworthy garage to give it a full check out and get a copy of his findings etc itll all help towards either getting your money back, or the car sorted

Shoot - Hopefully the Trading Standards people will be able to sort it for you mate

You notice that they trade on Gipsy Lane though?! And that they only have mobile numbers as contact numbers? All a bit dodgy to me!!

if the car doesnt drive right, ram it through one of their windows into the most expensive car and blame it on the car not handling, it'll all be their own fault. but as you said, it was a cabriolet so i would watch for falling glass! so failing that take it the legal route but dont do anything intimidating towards them ie wrecking cars etc because they might manage to wangle out of it on a technicality, leave it til after the legal proceedings

IMO - It's your own fault for not test driving it, I know they told you the car was un-drivable due to wheel allignment, (I would have said fine and walked from the deal at that point personally)
Also when you went to pick it up was it still not drivable? if it was why did you not test drive it then, before handing over the cash? just cause a car runs doesn't mean it has no problems.
A car can be sold as seen, you can't go back after signing everything to tell the buyer it's fooked.
