Clearly noone else was willing to pay his wage demands and Arsenal did not want a player who did not want to play for them though.

Gallas is 29 and a great player, but he is nowhere near worth 5m + himself for Cole. Arsenal just bottled it and took what they could.
Quite, however, jus like the Owen deal... sometimes you have to take what you can get :S

We have lacked a solid defender for a while imo. Senderos can be a bit dodgy sometimes, Cygan was just plain crap, even Campbell towards the end of his stint with us looked suspect.

Gallas will make a huge difference I think

IMO the last games Bridge has played he's been awesome!

Shame for him. He needs a move from there.

exactly that was some defence

I think Eboue is the weak link there, we need a creative right back.

I'm looking forward to seeing Baptista play. To be honest I haven't really watched Rosiky as of yet.

Gallas will be quality

Not happy about this deal at all really.

Arsenal valued Cole at £25m, Chelski offered £19m?

Arsenal valued Gallas at £5m.

So in theory Arsenal have lost £9m along the way and valued Gallas at £14m? Fat chance.

Although im glad Cole has gone, thinks hes top boy, i want to smack the cunt

Oh and Henry is said to be on about £120,000 a week, but Arsenal would not disclose this
