you only get good gains if you adjust the timing.
Performance ford tested 4 different fuels, and optimax allowed for more advance on the timing, which meant it made something like 37bhp over 95 ron. (that was on a 500 odd bhp cosworth engine though)
but, on a normal map, it wont do anything but cost you 5 p a litre more. (on most cars, like a corsa)

All cars with a knock sensor will see an improvement.

there may be a few minor differences in figures, but none that youd actually feel

wether or not it'd be noticeable on your common or garden X14XE is a different matter though.
Its only worth it on a car with a turbo, or a highly strung NA engine, or an engine with an ECU from a car mapped whilst running Super ( )

7bhp is almost half of 13 david, and yours is considered a performance orientated engine, the likes of punto 1.2s and corsa 1.4s will get 1 bhp if they are lucky, and cars without knock sensors wont get nothing apart from a kick in the wallet

also, Tesco 99 got slated by PF, it came 4th out of 4, was beaten by 97 RON esso super, optimax, and bp ultimate (which kills engines)

well, it killed brosters 138bhp engine, and about 30 other cars on the forcourt that day.
(it was just a bad tanker of fuel, but i dont use BP now, just incase)
