Full system...bin both cats, boost raise/remap should see you 270 - £1k

Then bigger turbo, FMIC, injectors etc you could run a safe 320bhp for maybe £1500

Thats just a guess...ive not been on Scoobynet in ages

Also deffi's & apexi computerymibob is required

I think standard injectors would be alright for that figure.

Think UK turbo ones tell to feck off at around 300bhp...you can upgrade to the likes of Type R ones for quite cheap.

I'm pretty sure you can go past that.

Standard dump valve is good for 350-400bhp so no need for chavy Mavvy items

Am i right in thinking that most people who buy a scooby fall in love with them and then when they sell them want another?

Just remember that running costs and repair bills are high on Subarus. Dont stretch your cash too far cos if it does break you wont be able to get it back on the road!

You'll get a nice car for £8k but again, go for a nice 4 door rather than a rough 2 door! Dont jump into modding too quickly either!

Good point Stu!

Interim service - £80-£120 - depending on if you take your own oil
Major service - £300-£600 - Cambelt dependant
Front brake pads - £110
Rear discs - £240
Ignition leads - £50

Servicing comes every 6 months, or as little as 3 months if you use regular oil.

Expect 20mpg urban driving and no more than 28-30mpg on a run.

Running costs and repair costs are high compared to other cars
I recently replaced the rad on my 205 and impreza
New rad for 205 - £60
New rad for Impreza - £130

Servicing is expensive too....I try and do my own but the plugs are a pain in the arse to get to....even then you're looking at about £50 for oil and £50 for plugs

No worries matey!!!

Id personally go with a nice MY00 UK turbo, totally standard with as low miles as you can get with FSSH!

If your only used to a 1.6 then the Subaru is gonna feel quick anyway, you wont need to mod it for a while!

A front shocker went on mine a few months back, so I obviously needed to replace the front pair - £280 + VAT each - without fitting! Got a full set of Tein coilovers with pillowball top mounts for the same price as 2 Subaru shockers!!!

Andy, i could theoretically insure a UK turbo for 2k, with no ncb at 20, so 4 years ncb and the extra year will make it a hell of a lot cheaper for you.

We managed to get down to them after a lot of swearing....but then found that we didnt have a tool to fit into their wee cubby holes
Apparently its easier to get to them from underneath though
