Least this will take some shine off that goal he scored past us from half way (even though it was into an empty net )

I saw Alonso the other day. He drives some 4x4 thing. I was gonna let him out at the juntion, but i thought better of it.

Just back in from Anfield, Quality game

Liverpool played well IMO. Alonso had a much better game than his last few, and his goal was quality. Sissoko was quiet, but then again he is probably trying not to get booked. Garcia had a few good touches but still doesnt deserve a starting place as gives the ball away way too much.

Newcaslte were poor though, kept the ball well in their own half, but anything past the half way line was easily handled by the defence.

Happy as had Reina (clean sheet), Finnan (clean sheet and set-up goal) and Kuyt (scored) in the fantasy team. But had 2-1 Kuyt at 22/1 (£5) which didnt come in

They showed a load of goals scored from inside own halves on SSN this morning.

Most were into a practically empty net and scored by lower divisions though

Shame about the result but I honestly dont think the goal was anything special. Most pros should beable to shoot on target from the half way line and if Harper hadnt have slipped he could have caught it.

Taking nothing away from Liverpool though, they were the much better team!

Yeah but who has the balls to try it??! Add to that the rush of premierleague game and the fact it didnt bounce till it was literally in- dont think many could pull it off! Well they havent!! Harper slipped because it was unexpected and got himself in a tangle rushing to get in position.

Should have been more tho, hopefully they all go in against spurs

Wasnt anything special

We created aolot of chances again and should of scored more than two, we are due hitting 5 or 6 past someone very soon, prob not Spurs though!

One thing I forgot to mention last night, poss one of the funniest things Ive seen while at a match...Bellamy was getting abuse from the Newcastle fans and one threw a bottle of water onto the pitch, so he picked it up, took a swig and threw it away. Wound them up so much

TBH I would expect a pro footballer to be able to put the ball in the back of the net from that distance whilst the goalie is laying on the floor

goalie was stood up. It was Alonso seeing him off the line and Harper rushing to get back that made him all on the floor.

And if it was so easy there would be a goal like that every week in the prem

yeah but that is the skill, not kicking the ball that far (goalies do that every game), its spotting the opportunity and having the vision and balls to have a go. Thats what makes it such a good goal when it happens, and thats why they dont get scored every week as not all players have that vision.

Beckham had the vision but I thought he was meant to be poo

I dont think it was too impressive. You can chuck out a load of crap about vision, For me, he hoofed it 60 odd yards and got lucky.

I said Beckham wasnt a legend, not that he was shit. I do think he could strike a ball great, and was a good player...just not a legend. like Alonso isnt a legend either.

If Henry had done it Im sure it would go down as impressive

No, Henry only scores quality goals. Not hit and hopes from the half way line.
