Ive just done this today.
I replaced an X16XE/F15 with an X20XEV/F20.
The F15 was a hall sensor which read from a ring with holes in it.
The F20 was the standard worm drive/cable affair.
Although the F15 hall sensor fits it doesnt pick up a signal from the gear drive on the F20.
The way i got round it was to get hold of a set of cable driven corsa clocks along with the cable and used the worm drive allready fitted to the F20.
I got the clocks fom the scrappy for £20.

It depends how many pulses it gives per wheel revolution, the F15 gives 29 or 30 pulses per wheel (diff) revolution,if your sensor gives more pulses or less pulses the speedo will work but will be way out.
I think the sensors used for an astra digidash are no where near enough pulses per wheel rev.

Right. Looking at my sport loom i can only see one round connector on the engine bay loom. Its only got 2 wires going to it though a black and a black/white. Is it a round connector i am looking for? Is it in the same loom as the lights or the same one as the starter motor and alternator etc? If its the starter motor lot has anyone got one of those looms they want to sell me??? Please!
