for an old engine + £1000 you could have had a brand new fully built up block and head inc new sump etc... then there would have been no need for the new head.

and headwork £400 WTF! thats rediculous money. and you can get new cams for £300 from blanks, not reprofiled from catcams or newman cams.

my headowrk was done by a very reputable competition engine builder who is famous in this country for building engines to compo spec who i can put u in touch with?? it was done on a flow bench, have u got a flow bench?? i believe last i heard courtenay havent even got a flow bench?? i think headwork is abit of an art, saw so many badly done and i beleive it takes abit of skill, not just some muppet and a dremel to do it correctly. as for the cams??? give me the addy for new cams for 300 from blanks???

no I dont own a flowbench but I do have access to one and know how to use it properly!

Gary on migweb is one of the best people in the country that does headwork. I have had headwork done by him and it was flowbench tested and was remarked on how good it was by a bloke I know that builds exhaust manifolds for the german BMW touring car team (its his flowbench I use) Gary charges around half of what you spent.

as for the cams from blanks for £300:

Vauxhall/Opel Camshaft Data :- Astra/ Cavalier /Calibra 16 Valve C20XE Engine NEWMAN

all profiles are £280.00 Blank
