its all bulshit. I think he should be done for gaining monies by deception. how can a so called 'proffesional engine tuner' actually lie so much and sleep at night?
maybe he is starting to believe his own lies.

maybe he ment on that car as 15bhp would be easy with a remap on say a skyline or most turbo dervs

but anyway... i think broster meant the 15bhp after the final figure after the remap.... which is .... i agree... bulshat!
The 215bhp from a remap isnt that far fetched though. A 1.8t running better fueling and a wedge more boost will make more power!

Dave - just a little comment too. If you are going to be ruuning your own company. It doesnt look very professional if you are slating all these other companies.
Maybe state facts rather than calling him a liar etc.
Just an observation.

I know I should remain impartial with me having my own tuning/rolling road company but I hate it when these companies are clearly lying to gain money.
I have spent £50k to ensure that my RR setup is accurate (well as accurate as it can be) and spent thousands extra on a 'weather station' for the RR so that factors such as ambient air temp, intake air temp, charge temps, humidity and barometric pressure can be measured and included in the final calculations.
and I wouldnt slate any other company apart from this one, I have known about them for years and are regarded as a complete joke in the industry and the performance/modified car community.
lets be fair, theres companies out there like me that spend massive amount of money on being proffesional and then theres companies like this that make a joke of it all.

its always the case that some rolling roads will over-read. thats acceptable, some will under-read. no chassis dyno (exept an engine dyno) will ever be 100% accurate and that is not the companies / mappers fault.
but consistently making things up and setting the run up so that the car will produce higher figures than is possible is a totally different thing.

Read what Mark said again Adam.
he said 'AFTER a remap'
meaning that the ECU will NOT 'learn' 15bhp from nowhere, especially after a remap.
YES, it can get 15bhp from a new map, easily, BUT it won't gain a random 15bhp AFTER being mapped for something extra.

tbh if he is talking about a turbo'd car you will see more bhp in a colder enviroment than a hotter one, due to colder intake temps.
but still thats not wot he said lol.

but on aa decent RR the intake temps, ambient temps etc are all corrected so that it doesnt matter what temp it is, the same result would be had every run.
so even if the intake air temp was 2 degrees the computer would overcompensate for it so that it is corrected to be between 17 and 21 degrees.

An interesting, if not v.comical read.
I suppose everyones got to start somewhere, and I only really know what I know from reading threads and getting help on here, not that I actually know that much about mapping.
That 1.2 corsas doing alright though

to me a re-map is having a car mapped.
AFTER a re-map, to me, means the after effects of a remap
anyway. I know what your saying

I'd be worried about getting my car mapped by cowboys, if the fueling is wrong it could cause long term problems.
