i heard its nearly 100% plug and play and mounting must not be that hard if you get a z18xe in a corsa and astra so i cant see why a z20 let wont fit or should i say bolt straight in im not sure on what drive shafts you would use corsa 1.8? i would like to see if it could be done if it can the golf turbo is going lol

I would go down the route of an aftermarket ECU and converting the throttle to a cable one a la VW 1.8 20v Turbo conversions...

I'd like a cable throttle in mine, FBW is gay.

wonder if the X14XE ecu and tb in my garage would work on mine?

You would need to convert the gas pedal to cable. You would also need to somehow change how the ECU works

I honestly don't see the bonus of using FBW. There is NO pedal feel, and there is a slight delay when you press the throttle. I really, really dislike it.

I cannot stand it either. It annoys the hell out of me, so much so I chose to buy an older car last time round to get around having it

FBW, fly by wire?

Tbh, all the electronic accel. in the old dears C does my tits in when i drive, it's a shame as it's a nice car to drive otherwise (apart from the clutch too) but it's one reason why i have kept my B

Still though, this transplant looks good, didn't someone fit the z20let into a B?

edit - can't type..

My C has all the things which annoy me -

Hydraulic clutch, which has no feel, and is FAR too easy to accidentally slip without realising.

Electronic Power Steering, which again, has no feel, and is far too light.

Crap brakes, dunno why, but I guess they're over assisted in some way

and the crappy Fly By Wire throttle.

so basically, its horrible to drive, and i preferred my b's, and even my nova

Hydraulic clutchs are nasty pieces of work too I prefer older cars so much to newer ones...

I can sort of see the point, as it means less snapping cables, but at the cost of knowing what's going on

I definitely will be having cables on my next car.

i agree with that, the brakes are a complete mare on the old dears - you push down on the pedal, nothing, a bit more, nothing....just a tad more...and you're having to take your face out of the dash

The B is so much more of a driving experience over the C, but all new cars are going that way so it's something that will have to be accepted
