106, more fun, just as fast, cheaper, smaller, look better, nicer interior, handle better, i'll think of more!!!!!
Just as fast? how do you work that out?
go on then tell me how much faster the 306 is then.
Quite a bit.
whats quite a bit?? .5 sec 0-60??? that wouldn't even be noticable on the road, 0-100??? probably would of go to a bend by then when the 106 would out brake and out handle the 306.
Well, going by what I saw, there quite a bit faster on the road. I don't care about figures. The 106GTi was had a bit done to it too, and the 306GTi was standard.

There isnt really much in the straightline performance 0-100. If you check out the BHP per tonne figures I would estimate there wont be much in it.

well the handling on the 106 is great for a fwd car..
but the extra gear and 170bhp (167) is appealing!
hmmm
add cams, exhaust, induction kit and a remap and the 106 will be 170bhp.
Then do the same to the 306 and watch it pull away.

150-160 Max. You will need TB's on these engines to make 170bhp.

The main reasons I'd want the 306 is, its quick when you want it to be, but you can also cruise along the motorway in 6th without hearing the engine revving its head off (I'm talking about doing roughly 90). And the GTi-6 is rarer I'd say.

that would be the only pro apart from space!!!! tbh, i hate motorways in the 106, over 90 and it feels like your ragging the tits off it!!!!! Where as in my old ibiza it was happy at silly speeds and it still had more.

I'd go for the 106.. 306 engine is a pain to find if they go wrong, generally a dearer car to run..
A 106 will touch on 140 and there great fun to drive..

They'd be quite a bit faster 3rd, 4th & 5th due to torque though.
