Just about 24, still at home, prob got another 18months max here until my folks retire, sell up and go abroad!
A lad from work got a mortgage in a run down sorta town not too far from lincoln.....got it at 18, its worth double now, but means sod all if you want to move anywhere else as they go up as well..........fair play to him for geting on the ladder though, 5yrs ago now.
Debts to pay before i move out, even then i cant manage on my own, id need to get a rich girly or go in with a mate, but people say ''If you want to loose a mate, go into business with them''

your just adding to the image of you in my head as a fat gayer. I bet you live with just your mum and a cat.
We all know you're the fat one I chose to buy my car in 2002 and house prices have risen since, also I'm in a less paid job than I used to be. I have just aquired 4.5k however, but we all know that gets you fuck all.

21, live in a house with 2 friends.
Only just did it 2 weeks ago too. I had my doubts at first, as its true you don't realise how easy you got it until you move out. But on the flip side it feels good actually "growing up" and learning everything on your own. All in all i've made the right decision as I love it at the moment, live with 2 sensible friends so the house aint a shit hole. I recommend it, but make sure you earn enough etc, its just one of those things you have to do or don't theres no in between (which is obvious)
I know people who rushed into it and moved out at 19/20 and thought they were really clever for doing it, 6 months dfown the line they were back at home because they couldn't afford/cope with it

2 of my mates rent together and to be honest its dead money. I think they pay £600 between them, then theres bills/shopping etc on top.

Christ. What do you get for that?
Round here I would struggle to get a garage for that, nevermind a house

yeh we realise its dead money, but were trying it out for a bit, then if everything stays the same were contemplating a joint mortgage, just to get on the ladder but not be on our own. Things might change etc though, only recently split with my gf so i know i got year at least with my friends, wouldn't meet a girl and move in with them within a year, so its ok for me at the moment. Depends how you want to do it though, some people do it to get on the ladder straight away but im doing it for the fun, and for the independance side of it. I'm the type of person who has to be chucked in the deep end and learn the hard way, not be shown stuff etc so decided only way i could do it was to move out!

same situation here. Going through the motions of mortgage offers and viewing properties. Im 23 BTW, but I know if I was single I wouldnt be wanting to do this. Instead I would be buying fast cars.
Deep joy
