For £2.5k the ERST/FRST will be shit you need to spend good money for a decent straight rust free one

That kind of money will get you a nice gti, rust free and straight if your lucky, plus standard for standard the gti is a better car IMO

def the fiesta RST, buy a good en, keep it clean and free of tacky mods and then sell it in a few years for more than you paid for it

as for french cars, iv done 39k now in my 172 with no real probs other than maintanance, something iv never had on the many vauxhauls iv owned

106 gti is by far the better drivers car

if you want a car thats easier to go faster in a straight line get the RST.

BTW its a ford, and a 90's ford at that so the french comments can STFU as these fords are as bad if not worst.

If it's a daily driver get the GTI without a doubt.

RST is ok as a weekend toy. I don't think they look that amazing tbh and they are common as fuck round my way, more so that scoobies

If i was given the choice and i didn't need soemthing that wasn't gonna break every 5 miles i'd have a FRST, i've loved them for years, but the pug is just as fun and more reliable. Plus i think the insurance on a FRST for me is still silly high for a not very quick car. Depends what you want, screaming on the redline fun or wheelspin happy turbo torque???

When most people say that rs turbo’s are unreliable is utter pish They will only go wrong like most cars if you don’t look after them!

Have had 2 and they got the death most times and was looked after and never had problems with them keep looking after them and they will treat you good

I love both but as i am a ford man i would have to stick with the RS

Nothing wrong with a GTI as well good quick cars and handle good

Well my mate had one producing 160bhp and he was forever calling my brother to fix something or other. I have a friend with a standard-ish ERST and that has had endless problems, you have to spend good money to get a nice one which is well worth doing imo.
