Knowing my car, it will. She's got 15/40 in at the mo. This is being dropped for 10/40 tonight, and a new filter.

Beardy told me to run it in with 15/40. Then drop this for 10/40.

Thats right.

What Vauxhall did was put a stupidly long and restrictive inlet on the C16 and X16 engines. This shortens it and releases a bit of power.

I don't think it'll run right till its mapped tbh.

Whats included in a "stage 2" headwork? What degree cams as well?

Tbh, i would expect to see 140+ odd from its when its setup.

Neither do I TBH. It does need a map, it's got a couple of flat spots. The head has larger ports, larger valve throats, knife edged ports and multi angle valves (I think).

I'm not sure what degree the cams are. They are Courtenay cams, i know that much. Bought under the understanding they are high torque cams.

Possibly 256 or 265. Doubt it'll be higher..

If its 256, before you go for them, i'd look at others. As the Manztel works well at high revs, you want some cams that come in around 4000+rpm and pull up to 7000+.

Im not sure on the exact details, some of the tecchy boys on here may be able to help with it.

(i.e if the cams are mild and work from say 3-6k, then your loosing possible power top end from where the M box really works).

The cams have been bought and fitted. The reason I went for them is that the car pulls well enough at the top as it is. There was not much below 4.5K. The car now pulls well from 2K to the limiter and has bags of torque.

Get it mapped and run it on the fuel you get it mapped with!!! I think 97 RON will be plenty! In a small capacity NA engine that runs close to stoich on the fuel ratio, increasing the RON of your fuel will have little effect!

so much false information about high ron fuels in this thread

anyway, not going to go into details. the courtney hi-torque cams are a 250ish degree cam, should give good gains once you get some verniers on and get it mapped (complete waste of time without the verniers tbh) they are a standard GM cam which are reprofiled to courtnes spec, low lift, long duration.

my guess is 131 bhp (get your tyre pressures right before you go)

WTF what a stupid measurement on the effects of a higher ron fuel, you could easily have quarter of a second difference just due to driving it differently.

ie i drove my 106 down the strip and got 16.2, then i drove it down and got 15.5 as i drove it better the 2nd time

Got the car on a power run this morning. She made 132.2BHP and 111lb ft of torque. Sounded sweet at full chat in third gear not going anywhere

It's not too bad considering it's on a standard map. I'm trying to scan the printouts now so I can put them up.

I think the credit card may have to come out.....

I am happy with it. I'm missing out on a lot without having it mapped. It'll be interesting to see what she makes once mapped. I'm hoping for 140+......maybe. I don't know if thats a bit optimistic.
