like they said the problem is in the users, if the user is dumb enough to click something and install it then there is nothing MS can do to stop that.
Comparing it to the like of FreeBSD etc is not a fair comparison because those type of OS are not being used by the general public who are likely to be the ones to accidentally install this stuff

Oh, do we have any 64bit drivers yet? Through work I can buy an OEM copy for about £50 (of whatever the equivilent is to XP Pro) so I want to upgrade soon. Especially as I don't have a valid copy of XP

OK, I'll bring my honest reasons forward.
Fantastic GUI. Pisses on windows 10 times over. Windows new features are simply a rip off of MacOSX's Dashboard and Spotlight, these being the 'new' Windows sidebar and Search function.
MacOSX is 10 times faster than Windows, and all the shite that gets clogged up in the system over time takes its toll on Windows. Adware/Spyware, all that shite. NOTHING like that on Mac OSX.
MacOSX; 114,000 less viruses than Windows to worry about. THIS IS FACT: http://www.apple.com/getamac/viruses.html ) - Therefore one less application to have to buy/download, one less application to have to keep pissing about updating, and one less application to eat up system resources.
I do not have to mess about installing and scanning for adaware and spyware every 5 minutes, nor do I have to defrag EVER. Again, 1/2 more applications I don't have to piss about installing, updating and scanning my machine.
As I say, a few of the honest genuine reasons why I moved across to MacOSX.

all depends on how you maintain your pc, if you let shit clog up then yes it will slow down, a clean windows vs a clean mac osx, the osx is not 10x faster
with regards to the virus thing, i dont have a virus scanner installed and i have never had a virus

GUI is debatable, i dont like the layout
MY dual core work PC is actually faster than our work Imac, if you know how to optimise windows, stopping services etc you can vastly improve loading times.
why dont you have to defrag?
not to mention the web browsers are tripe and the hardware/build quality of the macs is rubbish

I don't have a virus scanner installed either. I have 114,000 less viruses to worry about though.

The machine is defragging constantly meaning you don't have to.
Re: your last comment, there's nothing Safari can't do that Mozilla and IE can.
Isn't there issue(s) with Internet Explorer and security BTW?

Mozilla is shoot, and safari seems to have problems displaying some website, on the ibooks anyway.
We are about to ditch all our macs at work due to bad build quality.
As steve said, IE is fine for me
