The 225Bhp TT is 4WD as well,so a standard XE wouldn't stand a chance.

If it was an old shape TT only the 150 bhp is 2wd the rest are Quattro. Plus if you get in the wrong gear in one you are screwed, my S3 is'nt that quick if I get in the wrong gear. Get it right and your flying. Have'nt driven a 2.0 Corsa to compare though.

ok i think some people are missing the point here.. the TT driver was blatently being a cock by saying. "look at that 1.4 can only do 110" what ever and then got put on the spot when the corsa pulled away at high speeds. If the driver of the TT was not trying then even still he would of been suprised by the speed of the corsa if he thought it was a 1.4.

When i first started driving actualy i had no idea you could put bigger engines into corsas or if i did hear of it, i thought it was rare because when i was driving i had someone in a GSI right up my ass at 35mph and all of a sudden he was overtaking me and it was FAST. i tryed to catch up from 35 by putting it in 2nd and i had no chance. i thought he was only in a 1.6 and when i thought about it over the months i knew he must of had a bigger engine than that. anyways im not disputing anyone on here or trying to cause arguments, was pointing somthing out

Yeah I agree the TT driver sounds like a cock either way. Got what he deserved.

TT's

They did a 180 bhp & a 225 bhp

Quattro was on most 180 models as well (UK versions) and all 225 models

If it was an import you could get TT's in full on poverty spec - no quattro, normal exhaust, steel wheels

Doesn't matter what spec it was - the driver was a bit of a bell end by the sounds of things

Same goes for the Corsa driver, who was ragging it about anyway?

I had an S3 with 211 bhp and standard the perfomance is a dissapointment

Weight in the region of 1450 kgs.

So the difference in BHP for the Corsa is small.
I'am lazy didn't do the maths

I think the whole myth about XE corsas being fast comes from the fact that most people that own them have previously had the same car but with the original 1.2/1.4/1.6. then when they convert them its a massive improvement.

yes, they are quick cars for the money and cost of the conversion and I have owned one and converted quite a few but they arent anything amazing.

FFS it did happen he was 3 up just 2 in the corsa with no rear seats. What would be the point in lying about it.

I still dont see how the TT guy "got what he deserved"...

Ok he might have been a cock ripping the piss out of someone else...but just because a car overtakes him whilst he clearly isnt trying doesnt mean he "got it"...he was probably laughing his head off as the chav went screaming past bouncing off the limiter...

Without opening a can of worms or anything...
