no necessarily, most cars would do it anyway, but you just hear it because they have a loud exhaust, go to a BTCC event and hear all the cars do it on the track!

some of you may know nick with his orange and black Primera? Lambo doors in a few "Auto Glym" adverts? Remeber meeting him with a mate once and he was firing 5ft+ flames out the back!

there was a mitsibushi people carrier up here that was shooting crazy blue flames and then banging, was more frightening then amusing tbh.

Correct me if im wrong boffins... but I believe, its combination of a free flowing exhaust allowing the gases to pass through the system, and overfueling. The amount of fuel that gets fed into the cylinders is determined by the ECU, if excess amounts of fuel are passed in its called overfueling and often it passes through the outlet and into the exhaust system. When this excess fuel is burnt in the exhaust it causes a small explosion which will make a pop noise or sometimes flame depending on how much there is and where in the system it takes place.

My old corsa turbo used to pop like fuck and spit flames when it had a overfuelling problem! It sounded and looked awesome but couldnt of been doing any good so got it fixed

not sure if mine does, it pops when changing gear high up in the revs, and on over run, c20let with no cat or centre box, full 3 inch system. Will find out soon enough
