well pugs are well known for there handling and in the wet or at high speed the front becomes very uncertain in the MR2

Just my experience of driving both - what about yourself

Prob down to tyres, but none the less the 306 is better looking, more comfort, reliable, quick

yep, a 220bhp MR2 if it still is that which i doubt due to wear/abuse etc V a 306 GTi around a track will be very close.

LOL lets not get ahead of ouselves here, a GTi-6 will be matched with a N/A MR2 - they have pretty similar stats.

Turbo it wont see for dust!!!

Mostly because of the facts actually -

Pug - 137.56 bhp/ton, 145 lbft, 7.9s - 60mph

MR2 Turbo - 160.8 bhp/ton, 203 lbft, - 6.2 - 0-60mph

Also the fact if you throw a grand at the MR2 you get 300bhp........

mine isnt

Anyway around a track the pug will be better handling and the 40bhp advantage would be minimal.

Up the pod on a warm dry day i would say the MR2 Turbo (jap spec/Not US one)
