Don't worry, that Corsa isn't mine. It belonged to the previous owner, shane_o on here!

Well, I'm using the engine that i've been running in my Nova all 2006, X14XE on Twin 40 Webers with Janspeed Manifold and a standard F13 Box, but hopefully by the time it comes out in the Corsa, should be a few light changes to it, just for the meantime while I save up more cash. Would love to be able to afford to let JRE from Plymouth build me an engine! A mate of mine had his engine built by JRE and is currently at 160bhp with plenty more to come if needed!

Well, Operation Workshop started today as I now have an empty barn for a week.

This morning the barn looked like this inside:

Then by Lunchtime was looking like this:

And at 8 o'clock this evening, was like this:

Will get some better photo's in the daylight.

Hopefully get the sides finished off tomorrow, get some big opening doors on the front of it to get the cars in and out, flourescent tubes up top, and covered with a heavy duty sheet of some sort!

Much better than working in an open sided barn!!

Ben

Just a question about the fibreglass boot, how do you plan to mount it?

Hmmm, good question. Its just what was available really. Plus I think the 97- front end looks better, but the pre 97 rear bumper gives easier access to the rear towing eye!

Any reason why you didnt use the gsi bumpers? Any rally car shouldnt have the tow cover on anyway imo.

What's the reasoning behind going from a light Nova, to a heavier Corsa?

I was looking for GSi bumpers, but they are so much more than the standard bumpers to buy! Unless you know of any?! Plus, the standard ones are lighter (i think)!!

Not sure what I'm doing with the old shell yet. Might keep it as a spare or sell it on. Its still got an engine in at the moment, but that'll be coming out soon to go in the Corsa.

Well, today i've trekked up to Wales again, luckily not snowing this time, and brought back my rally car with its new latest addition, its roll cage:

Got some grey oxide primer on the welds tonight just to stop any rust setting in overnight:

And had the heater matrix hole filled over:

And seat rails welded in with captive nuts:

Should hopefully get it mostly primed tomorrow night (hopes) but finally, its coming on now.

Huge thanks to Shaun at O'Gorman Fabrication (01686 411096) for all the welding, bending, grinding etc etc over the past week, top job.

Updates tomorrow.....

Ben

Yes thanks Neil, received the DVD on friday actually! Arrived in good time. Brought back some memories from a very good trip!

Have you got the confirmed dates for your next visit? I heard a rumour that there is a 6 month wait to get on the track?! I really cant see that being true, but have you heard anything like that?!
