Twas a lovely day today, but unfortunatly I was working, so didnt have much time on the car.

Despite that, I got a fair bit done. First of all, i got the fucking locking bolts off, using a 17mm socket, previous owner had lost the socket for them

Anyways, got them off and proceeded to remove the rear wheels, sand down the drums and paint them black.

Before:

After:

Then I had to go to work

When I came back, I put the wheels back on, then painted the front calipers. Forgot to take any pictures, will get some tomorrow.

Also began to take the sidestrips off, plastic parts are off, just need to get rid of the residue.

My GSI spoiler should be here tomorrow, so ill have plenty pictures.

And for some reason, all the text has gone bold?

Looking lovely mate, a GSi front bumper or post 97 bumper would set it off good.

My GSI spoiler arrived today . Not sure when I'll be fitting it, but stuck it on very very roughly with some masking tape , just for an ideal of what It will look like:

Also, here are the pictures of the calipers & drums:

Oh yeah, heres what Ive done so far on the de-stripping, still got the glue to get off:

Nope, he sold the only one he had

Big plans this weekend, going to put it up on axle stands on Friday night, so I cant start early on Saturday, get straight into it. Planning to *Try* and get the inner arches off, and get my GSI fronts on, then get the side-strips off.

GSI spoiler will be fitted, and hopefully, If i get paint, I can paint my post-97 boot handle, mirrors, and the door handles. Then an extreme cleaning session with some T-Cut, still trying to get the paint back to its optimum!

Busy Day

Yeah, there was some sorta shit on it, I used a wire bit on a drill, and tried sandpaper, but it wouldn't shift it. Need to invest in a wire brush i think

Looking good.

Black post 97 bumpers will look good imo

Punto/Marea Rear Wiper too.

Silver or gold brake calipers would look better too imo.

But great start

Going for a GSI look-alike, If i cant get a GSI front, Ill get a post 97. Will try to get a punto wiper, I think theres a fucked punto lying about somewhere, shall investigate!

And i am hopefully getting the brakes off my brothers XE, as hes getting V6 brakes sometime, so mine are a temporary measure.

Got my blue dash bulbs through today, fitted them in the MFD first:

Then moved onto the dash. Found that the no rev counter clocks have HUGE bulbs, so im going to send back the ones I have and try & get a correct set.

While the dials were out, I thought I would try painting the needles. These clocks arnt staying for long, getting SRI or GSI clocks soon, so i gave it a shot:

Looks pretty good IMO! Make it a bit different I suppose.

If you're getting GSi clocks, keep the LED's you have atm to put in them and just keep the standard bulbs in these atm - far more logical
