10/3/07

bit more done today

borrowed the welder from work and got cracking welding in my strengthening kit it. went in really easy with a bit of pigeon crap holding it in

gave it a quick coat of hammerite to stop it going rusty

also welded up a hole i found in my n/s/r arch which i found unusual. will put some more pics up tomorrow as ive got another full day on the car. might even be putting the engine in yet

11/3/07

very happy today as the engine went in

decided to put th engine in on its own and bolt the gearbox on after as it just makes it easier where the car currently is and it means i can put the engine in form the top well here are a few pics of the mincing that happened

took engine out ov my shed and got it ready to go in

engine bay just wanted the o/s/f mount bolting in and it was in with the engine

all bolted in and resting on a block of wood till i get the gearbox in lol
still got the strut tops to paint yet so ignore the colour and all the paper

oh and a big thanks to parker and my pussy for the help

now all i gotta do is plumb it in and get the gearbox on.

update 3.4.07

it runs!!!!!

on 3 mind but at least it runs

havent updated in a while, been busy. havent taken many pics tho either which im bit pissed off about but i just forgot. oh well

well intercooler came and was bit bigger than expected but got it to fit ok in the end

well started it up on sunday bit loud with no down pipe
anyway was running on 3 cylinder so had to do a bit of investigating
was getting spark so did a compression check which was 190, 190, 190, 190, which i was more than happy with.
decided it must be fuel so took injecters out and got them tested and turned out num1 inj wasnt work at all

oh well got a set coming now so should be sorted and on the road soon, cant wait

engine now looks like this

got alot of tidying up to do in the engine bay yet once the new injectors are in

also did a bit of wheel swapping and put my astra gsi rims on my other gsi and i think they look

Same but I just don't know how hard a conversion is, how long it takes, because I have to use my car everyday for college, and soon work.

conversion is easy is you have all the right parts. did my other gsi in a weekend when putting the xe in. my let has taken a while cuz im in no rush and i want it mint.
if i was gunna do one for the first time i would buy the m-tech kit again as the instructions are very good and it explains all the parts needed along with the kit
