Not much of an update.
When I got it serviced and MOT'd a few weeks back it gave me a good chance to inspect the underneath and it wasn't looking to healthy.
So seeing that I shut down for work over Easter, I have over the last 4 days been crawling around underneath clean, grinding and treating all rust and then undersealed the whole of the car and the rear wheelarches where welding had burnt of the existing stuff

Took delivery of this a week ago

Gave it a lick of paint

Then set about fitting it

What was removed and binned

Everything fitted

Just got to give it a run and see what it goes like now.
So chuffed to bits with it as its the first bit of major mechanical work I've ever done and (touch wood) it all works fine.

Also removed all these crappy rubber bushes

And fitted some brand new Powerflex bushes alround which I bought of Ebay for £55 for a full set.

Fitted my new 90mm rear springs today. Cheers Dave A.
Originally it had 40mm rears and with a stripped rear end they made no difference, it sat at the original height. So I figured wth some 90mm ones it will drop it about 50-60mm.

Before

After

Much better now, and sits about right I think.

Also got rid of the rear wiper and grommeted the hole and the rear badge was mankie so popped the actual badge of the plastic back and prepped it and sprayed it satin black.

Decided today to try and get rid of some stuff that is of no use what so ever. So removed the thick yellow padding/sound deadening from the front compartment of the car, which I never got round too when I initially stripped it.

Which does weight quite abit.

Then will I was doing that I decided to start stripping the wiring loom of all unused wires.
I think all these wires are
front tweeters and wiring
rear spaekers back to head unit
rear wiper back to fuse board
and i think electric windows, mirrors and seats
front and rear courtesy lights

Ordered a Whiteline rear antiroll bar Tuesday from Demon Theifs, arrived Thursday so fitted it this afternoon.

Fitted

Just got to wait until 12th November to try it out, which is when I go to Brands Hatch for some track action.

Got myself a glassfibre bonnet becuase the old original one was rotten one the front edge. New one is not just a skin version one but a full moulded one so it has more strength in it. Plus it weights half as much so some more weight saving.

Old bonnet off.

New bonnet on, painted it satin black, because i'd never get a good paint match with rattle cans.
Fitted some locking Aerocatches on the front.

All done, ready for Bands Hatch tomorrow.

Piece of piss, just got to make sure they are both lined up exactly the same, angle, width in and up the bonnet.
Just take your time.
Probably a lot easier fitting them in grp and carbon then metal.

Its running 120 bhp, its makes a huge differnce with the strippage and added extras on track but on the road as an everyday car it is almost unbearable now.

So it may not have huge power, but the weight lose kinda makes up for it.
