Ive heard 1.2s arent great for fuel but those prices seem high?
I did plymouth to birmingham (211 miles) on £16.24 in a 1.4 8v last weekend

300 miles a tank was what I was basing my estimate at, as an average figure.

I want to go in my car Rob though.
I think it'll be a 1.6, but im still tempted with the 2.0.

Get an AX. You could probably do 2500 to a tank.
Corsa 2.0 16v Vegas - Sold

Not sure but there is no way a 1.6 will be as good as a 1.2 16v, 8v maybe but not 16v.

i get 300 miles to a full tank which is £35 in my 1.6 16v
so :
2500 / 300 = 8.3
8.3 x £35 = £291

I wouldnt take an XE Corsa on such a long journey as it would be hard to stick to low revs\low speeds and it would cost a fortune in petrol.
If it has an F20 box you'll be sitting at 70mph at a touch over 3000rpm in 5th. This is quite high for long motorway trips.
