But is still means nothing without knowing if the new grouping is going to cost more, or if it's just so that you don't get banded in a 10, when it's only just a ten.

Astra Turbo Convertible

Old 16/20 = 0.8

New 33/50 = 0.66

Technically I'm now 66% up the scale instead of 80% so you might expect the Astra insurance to go down. We'll see

And the Corsa VXR should also be cheaper, if that does happen to be the case.

Difficult to compare that to the Astra as its worth more.

I'm looking forward to my discount for going down 7 groups

Omega

14/20 = 0.7
29/50 = 0.58

Corsa GSi

10/20 = 0.5
21/50 = 0.42

Technically going from that (as Ian did) should work out cheaper...

If anything I reckon the price will get hiked up

Which is lower.

19/20 = 0.95
38/50 = 0.76

Which is the same as group 15(.2) now, thus cheaper.

(In theory)

Pricing is based on groups but that isn't all, it's an industry standard but every single insurance company will price on their own so it'll be cheaper for some, more expensive for some etc.

It will all so still depend on the post code ect If you live in a higher risk postcode area then your car is more likely to be broken into or stolen and therefore the premium will once again be more either cheaper or more likely more expensive!!

Good point Robin

I did wonder this shortly after I posted.

Probably too good to be true though. I should think it'll still end up dearer.
