yes, but you fucking ignorant wanker i can't fit wide tyres as they will rub on the arches. hence the need to stretch the tyres.

you're stretching the tyres because you want deep dish rears......
You're stretching the tyres because the rims are too wide.

Which is it?

'Dish' normally refers to the 'lip' on the inside of the wheel. Have a look at a set of BBS LM's and you'll understand 'dish'. Nothing to do with stretching tyres

right, i want a dish on the rears, but i won't be able to fit 225 tyres to a 8" rim as they will scrub on the aches, by stretching the tyres across it will cut off the corner and hopefully won't scrub. I understand what a dish is AK! I don't know what is difficult to understand, i could just fit 7" rears with 195's, but then the rears won't have much of a dish.

What your trying to do is homosexual, do you see why we can't get our heads around it? Why not fit a tyre and wheel combo that will suit the car?

you've said 195s will be alright in your mind Cupra Steve, just bugger off and do it. So in a months time when you make a new thread that your rims scraped the floor or your tyres fucked we can say i told you so!

why not suggest something i like then, i want something for looks rather than the motorsport image, not wanting cyclones / OZ ST's / Chronos. I like RH Cups.

because they arent the right size for the wheel. and you wont get any handling gains from fitting overly wide wheels anyway, how often do you see race cars, track cars, rally cars etc... on gay wheels with the wrong size tyres on?

let me get this right,

1. you want wide wheels for the looks
2. they need wide tyres
3. wide wheels wont fit your car with wide tyres
4. so you are going to stretch a narrow tyre onto the wide wheel

is that correct? if so, what else do you need to know?
