exactly what i did, and i now have a 2.1

No point going for loads of power when you are a fairly inexperienced driver, as said, get some no claims/experience and then think about something faster.

Yep, 1.4 out, 1.6 in, I used a different gearbox, because it saved swapping it over, but the gearbox is the same, it's literally just a matter of unplugging the wiring loom, unbolting the engine, lifting it out, dropping the new one in, bolt it up, plug the wires in, swap the ecu and you're away.

i'm in a dilemma at the moment as i want a new car, im 21 nearly 22 with 3 nearly 4 yrs NCB and atm driving a 1.4 cdx corsa but want something quicker. I was just going to sell my corsa and get a vts/106 gti or soemthing similar for a year or so just to curb my need for a new car, but my dad reckons i should wait another year and then get a newer car like last 5 yrs or so, not sure what to do im just bored of my car!

ok then, well ive decided im going to go for a 1.4 sport and just continue to build up some no claims, its only going to be an extra hundred quid or so than what i pay now and to be fair ive been friving my 1.2 8v now for about 18 months so a 1.4 sport will feel pretty quick for me, il keep that until im 21 and then il go for the 1.6!

Ok then corsa's are the best cars, like shite.

I didn't suggest he get anything but for a first car you absolute tool.

He's just said he wants to go from a 1.2 corsa to a 1.4 corsa to a 1.6 corsa.

Do you not agree he should sample some other bloody cars for his own sake

right jay T checkout liverpool victoria...was only small difference for me between a 1.6 gsi and a 1.4 sport...i just found a 1.4 after i cudnt get hold of a gsi in time that was for sale. I dunno if its worth tuning a 1.4 really, If i cud change things id have a 1.6 but then again insurance is killing my funds as it is! so go for wot u can afford, but kinda silly to buy a 1.4 and spend money on tuning it if u can get a 1.6 and leave it as it is like?!

its faster, and will feel faster to due to a longer and higher powerband plus more torque but in real world driving it was only creeping away
