The gains on the 1.6 aren't as good as the gains on the 1.4

i disagree there robin, they are one of the cheapest ive found, they are a big company and not some little dodgy one, and their customer service has seemed pretty good so far!

From those mods listed up top, that will be at least £500 worth, and then as Rob says the insurance will be higher anyway as it is modified anyway.

I'm 20, with 0 NCB, and have my 1.6 insured in my name for £900, with alloys, exhaust, brakes, suspension, all audio, and other small cosmetic changes all covered like for like.

Jay, who have you rung that tells you that?

I'm with HIC, and I'm 20.

Elephant quoted my £1050 last year on my 1.6 Sport, when I was 19.

Why don't you just ring around, or at the very least use http://www.confused.com/ ?

Give it a go, it will be cheaper and better to insure a standard 1.6 sport than it will to spend money tuning a 1.4.

Seriously, you say you can't get insured, what you mean is you can't get insured with Tesco.

Go elsewhere, they ARE expensive, and they ARE rubbish, it doesn't matter if they're a big company or not, that just means they care even less about customer service.

I was with Tesco, I moved to Admiral and saved about £300.

SHOP AROUND and you'll be able to insure the better car.

the fact that ive only just gone through the hasle of finding cheap car insurance and they came out best for the car i have now, ive started to build up some no claims and i can only use them with them as my dad is on the policy plus they have given the best quote by far for me for a 1.4 sport and they allow mods too!
