I would agree completely with muppets case (and it's not a biased view) as the simple fact is it should have had instructions to clean it.
Saved me posting the same, cheers
The mods on that site should be ashamed, hopefully Muppetsport gets it sorted.

I totally feel for muppet loss of engine etc but like its already been stated if your that heavily involved in rebuilding etc your engine then surely you would have checked it was ok
All manufacturers make statements but most of the time things are doubled checked especially running that kind of perfromance
Also I knwo ebay has its good points but there would be no way i would buy a part for engine off ebay having spent 1000's on it already
I feel there is partial blame on your behalf for fitting it although most of the balme falls with the retailer
Whether it gets resolved is another matter.
Also is the product not guarenteed. If it is surely its failed thus refunded and damaged caused settled

No offence but if i received an item that was internal to the engine and was powder coated , painted or not clean in anyway then ther would be no way i would put it on

It really fucks me off how they are saying that it's muppet's fault. No fucking way is it his fault. No way at all what so ever. He deserves full compensation for an engine re-build.

People saying "Oh, clean it off"
Yea, I'll just clean off some fused plastic particles off of my rocker cover with a piece of rag. The only way you could clean it off is by using acid. If it's come off so easily through just heat then it hasn't been done properly.
Totally not fit for purpose. End of story. It should have been cleaned by the seller or properly masked before the plastic was applied. The buyer should not need to worry about an engine cover wrecking thier engine.

if its bought from a reputable dealer then it should be guaranteed but my thought it its not a reputable dealer thus you take the risks

He assumed it would be fit to go on the engine, which is a reasonable thing to do.

Yes, if you are selling things they need to be fit for purpose unless otherwise stated. This item was not fit for doing it's job and has ruined and engine.

I personally wouldn't have been able to check it but my mate is a mechanic and i would have asked him to have a look over it - not saying he could have identified the issue but i would have asked for a second opinion
Just my opinion you seem forget that its just an opinion i'm not saying I'm right

i feel sorry for muppet.imo i dont think he will get far in court etc.too many things dont work in his favour.mainly becuase emossionless passion isnt a real company so are not insured etc.i think the only person to actually gain from it will be the tax man when he is alerted about someone trading goods without registering a company etc.
