Everyone needs to remember tyre choice is more down to personal opinion than anything, everyone who is saying 'I don't see why Toyos get called crap, they're fine on mine' likes them, some people don't.

I thought they were shite, I've had better tyres, better doesn't always mean more expensive either, my Hankooks were better than the Toyos and cost me £35 a tyre, fitted.

I don't understand how a set of Uniroyals can only last 3k though My Avons lasted 4k, I'd JUST passed my test, and they were made of butter, Uniroyals are much harder compound than they were.

People with over 100bhp, what tyres do you have and do yours spin up too easy?

And not advised for our british weather! Whats the point in them? i know where i live even when it's sunny it's normally moist or a bit damp or even worse greasy road conditions. For a dry track then yes, but surely not to good on the road.

michelin energy, pilots and exaltos, all brilliant tyres, pricey but i get mine at trade from ATS, so end up not much more than toyos etc.

yoko's are too soft, my mums volvo went through a set of bridgestones in 6k miles, then went to michelins and did 10k+miles (we sold the car)

888's or 048's etc arent all that bad in the damp... quite good actually. Its just standing water they arent good with.

I'm considering 17" 888's for damp/wet track days

How long did they last? Can't be very durable and i bet they are expensive! I don't see the point tbh, i have the best handling car already, no need to rub it in by putting cut slicks on!

I'm not really bothered by durability, i've already ordered A539's and they are being fitted tomorrow, i may need some new ones by the summer so i might try some R888's next.

at the end of the day road tyres are designed to handle well around corners.

if u want straight line grip go for something soft eg toyos or eagle f1s

ive had t1-r's and now got t1-s's never had a problem with them seem to handle immensely too. There is a massive motorway roundabout (the one near the old post office) and i struggle to lose grip ragging it around that.
