to be honest i didnt like them at first look but I must have passed atleast 10 of them in the past few days - I must admit... now i do like them - not sure about the performance though but i reckon they'll hold their own against the competition.

I was very happy with my CTR, did 86,000 miles in 3 years and never missed a beat. You won't get that in a real performance car - Something Honda pride themselves on and customers have come to expect reliability. Start adding LSDs, stripping components, pushing the engine harder for more power and that reliability might go down the pan. I think Honda have done the right thing bringing the Type R to the masses. If you want a proper performance car either build one or go for something far more hardcore than a Type R be it DC2 or whatever surely?

in what way? imo it looks shit, driven by cocks, gay lights, owners think vtec is a massive turbo, lacks torque
my car cost me £3k with FSH, handles well, fun to drive and will do me until i get my Evo

Yes but some people are more concerned about safety, warranty, reliability, age etc and I'd agree definately alot more car then you have.
However, personally I'm not keen at all and i'd be buying a dc5 that's a few years old and saving some money and be driving a much better looking car that has more 'credibility' as a performance car also.

Trust me the handling is better on the new one, the grip is unreal m8

My old mans got a 1.8 16v version. Pretty gutless, but far suprior to the astras interior in every way (bar the seats....). He's certainly not a cock.
Read that the new R has different camshafts which make the V-tec power delivery smoother and less noticable. Its also heavier, and the stearing isn't as weighty or aas good as the previous model. Its still got about 200bhp and Honda decided not to up the power.
It'll be a good car, but i'd wait for the "rumoured" RR version with the 250bhp supercharged engine.

Cannot see them bringing out a SC version - they have never done it before and they would probably go the turbo route as its ligher etc

Can't see them doing either, I think they'd do an up'd capacity or higher tuned, more stripped out version if any.

Not keen. The older CTR (breadvan) is the best looking yet IMO.

only over 60's worry about warranty?
Wern't you on about 'cocks' driving type r's are you on about old people being cocks
People want and need different things from cars ffs just because you don't see it doesn't mean there opinion or reason for purchasing is rediculous.

Yeah if anything i think if they did a special edition, it's be a 220 brake 2.0, with no bells and whistles (junk aircon, lighter seats, no sound deadening etc), kind of along the lines of how renault do their Cup versions. I still don't think it'll sell that many though, as said earlier, yes the DC2/DC5/EK9 were all much more focussed, but they also only sold in hand fulls in this country.

could afford it now, dont see the point in putting money into new cars only to lose 50%+ when i come to sell it.
Would rather by a nice house, which i have, and save for my Evolution

you clearly have no idea
Honda are a business, they make things to sell, they dont want to make sumit that only a few people buy, the EK9 is rare as it was never released over here! the DC was released in short numbers too.
Honda hit the nail on the head with the Bread Van type R , it sold thousands and this has made them momey, shock horor what they set out to do
