i think its more down to the fact of it feeling, big, quiet and uninspiring, thats the impression i get anyway

At the end of the day it's a new road car, it's not going to be as inspiring as a 90's hot hatch as it has so many safety features on it and these days everybody who can buy one wants space and luxuries. Get some mods on it and i'm sure it will be a little beast. Still need to see one in the flesh to judge the looks though!

not all about 0-60 tbf 30-70 is also a good measurement, as is 50 - 100

Well my 106 is 7.5 seconds or around that and i took it out on the weekend and it felt fucking quick to me! But i have been driving an old shitter of an escort for a few weeks!

No, it's not all about 0-60 but when comparing it to other FWD hatches it is a fair way of judging it's speed, it obviously gets it's power down well and isn't very sluggish, and if it does that whildt making you feel safe, not making a hell of a racket, and in comfort then vauxhall have done well as that is what the consumer of today wants!

They do, but if i had the choice of my 106 or a corsa vxr i know which one i'd choose!

I know what I'd rather crash in at 140mph, and wasn't really a tough decision. "hmmm, Corsa VXR or Peugeot 205 GTi/something like that from the 90's".

and the corsa does go some! It's quicker than any other UK spec small hatch i can think of.
