not the cupras, the cupra rs are closer to 1300
same engeine tho just in a diffrent state of tune so were the extra weight
the engines are different, as is the bodywork, the leon cupra r has extra stuff like twin intercoolers which all add up the weight

At the end of the day it's a new road car, it's not going to be as inspiring as a 90's hot hatch as it has so many safety features on it and these days everybody who can buy one wants space and luxuries. Get some mods on it and i'm sure it will be a little beast. Still need to see one in the flesh to judge the looks though!

not all about 0-60 tbf 30-70 is also a good measurement, as is 50 - 100

No, it's not all about 0-60 but when comparing it to other FWD hatches it is a fair way of judging it's speed, it obviously gets it's power down well and isn't very sluggish, and if it does that whildt making you feel safe, not making a hell of a racket, and in comfort then vauxhall have done well as that is what the consumer of today wants!

I know what I'd rather crash in at 140mph, and wasn't really a tough decision. "hmmm, Corsa VXR or Peugeot 205 GTi/something like that from the 90's".

and the corsa does go some! It's quicker than any other UK spec small hatch i can think of.
