Wilson-SRI - Surely a LET is easier to live with everyday than say a TB'd 1.6 or 2.0?

I would say a turbo'd car is alot easier to drive sensibly than as you don't have to boot it and get it on boost where as a few mates with tb's and cams etc are horrible for a sensible drive.

I'm quite interested in that red gsi let on ebay, i would have a corsa LET but it would be a standard LET.

LET's can be used every day. IF they are good enough to be on a rep mobile calibra and family wagon Cavalier, they will be fine in a car that weight bugger all.

Its just how you look after the engine.

I found with my 2.0 that i never ever had to rev it so hard like the 1.4. Simply because i've got so much more power available you don't need to rag it.

C20let, tap the throttle, you shoot forwards.

The only issues would be the fuel costs

we are actually in the process of building a c20let for a conversion, looking at around 350bhp with aftermarket management and a lot of tasty goodies, may do it as a thread in the projects and builds section. we also do a kit that allows you to tit a GT28 turbo with a tubular manifold, custom downpipe and all of the oil line extensions needed as a bolt on type conversion.

Doesn't mean anything with a turbo. As soon as that turbo spins up, watch the fuel gauge go down.

Even with the astra, try to stay off boost, and in 1st and 2nd gear, your lucky to stay in 2 digit numbers on the computer.. Sucks watching the MPG go down to 9, when your doing 10-20mph

Great on fuel in 6th at 70mph (the LET + F28) on a motorway though. Nice low revs, power availabe, and not stressing the engine.

ps 350bhp, your having a laugh dave. you will never make that. no chance. you should maybe learn a bit more about these engines before making wild claims

muppet, grow up and give up doing your best to rubbish everything I post.

350 bhp will be easy on the spec we are building this engine to, as for having experience with these engines then maybe you should find out what you are on about before doubting my knowledge and ability, we have now built a couple and one of my mechanics has been building them for the past 7+ years.

i can doubt your ability, as your a bullshitter.

build that car, then run it on some independant rollers. as im sure you could give any car any bhp you want with your fiddled results.
