Pressure wash
Clay bar
Polish
Wax

in that order. Results should last weeks with a good wax sealant

Collinite 476 is really cheap and durable wax, seriously one of the best i've tried for the money! Makes washing your car so much easier, will last months easy. The water and dirt will just run off it. A tub costs about £15 or so but will last years. Even if you apply it once or twice a year you will notice a difference in the shine and how much easier washing is.

I use

Autoglym Shampoo
Autoglym Wheel Cleaner
- Rinse and Chamois
Autoglym Super Resin Polish
Autoglym Glass Polish
Autoglym Bumper Care
Autoglym Tyre Dressing

Perfect results on the Corsa!

If i'm feeling particularly generous the Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection is cool too

Wash with 2 buckets of D.I. water at 40DEG, then rub clay all over, then wash again using your maws frilly minge cloths then measure the thickness of paint with your anuscope & build up a 3D image on your hard drive then massage some organic sauce onto the bodywork & buff clean!!

Its like a lump of clay you rub on the paint

You will never get a really good finish unless you use a claybar. It makes the paint feel like glass. Amazing stuff

Make sure the car is clean first and make sure you use a lube (e.g. quick detail spray) or you will damage the paint.

The whole point of polishing is to cut the paint and remove defects. So long as you keep applying wax everytime you wash the car (so long as you wash it properly) in theory you will never have to polish it ever again.

IMO, all you need to do is -

Wash with a bucket of warm water with car shampoo in

Rinse with the hose

Walk away.

That's fine unless you have a red/black car, when you either need to ponce about with a chamois, or polish the paint every fucking day to keep it red
