it's not about that.....

but my question is:

what's the point of german plates? make the car more reliable? more power?

i could ask the same of why put a mhw lights on a car they looks good but dont give power or make a car more reliable

i've never put mhw lights on my car

No seriously, even if I put it, it IS LEGAL unlike german plates

oddly enough it can do. As the relevent governing bodies in different coutries don't actually speak to eachother. so if you were to bring a car over from germany or where ever and not register it in this country then if you were to be done speeding they would have no record of your vehicle. hence no point for you.

these plates can not fail the mot test either its on the testers manual in black and white also if the plates are good enough for another european country why are they good engough for this european country?? its very petty that the police act like this

i have pressed plates with euro GB on them (instead of D or F) with uk font ready to go on my golf.

i didnt want to look german, i just think the pressed plates look good on german cars. without a foreign letter on them though they dont look too bad. will be interesting to see if i get pulled quickly.

The font, letter size, and letter spacing all must be to the required standard. The plate manufacturer must also have their postcode marked on them.

They are 'show plates' for 'show use only.' Its as simple as that really, if you put them on your car, you risk the fine and inconvenience .

There are reasons behind numberplate laws, im sure if you really want to know them you can find out. If there wasnt requirements think at what some people would have done to theres! Im sure we've all seen some stupid plates before, and thats with a law governing them!

Fair enough though, everynes entitled to a moan.

So if you have pressed steel plates with the standard uk font, the correct spacing and a UK badge on the side then they'd be legal? because they're not trying to pull off fraud for the car being german?

Will just do that then, still get the desired effect more so than plain UK ones.

Too look good, whats the point in modifying a car ? ... To make it look good, and if people think it looks good, then they do it.
