when you overlay the 120 bhp vts graph with steves 1.6 corsa graph, steves makes more power over a larger part of the rev range, the saxo made 6 bhp more but only for about 200 rpm.

the vts also only made good torque for around 2000 rpm, steves made it for about 4000 rpm.

less power over a longer rev range = a better car on the road. Fact.

edit: steves car weighs a lot less than a standard vts as well.

the saxo made 125bhp?

i gurantee you it wont be faster than a vts on the road or otherwise regardless of what you think your graphs say.

also peak power is only made at 5400ish the vts will make peak power at 6,500 or thereabouts, therefore the power bands will be completely different anyway, you cant compare them by overlaying them

yes you can steve, you just scale the graphs.

anyway, belive what you want. I drive these cars everyday and have driven steves car and had it on my dyno and overlayed various graphs.

but obviously you know best. truth is I dont care whats faster, neither are my cars, just wanted to give my opinion.

however you love to give your opinion and must be right as you have driven steves car? or any of the cars I am comparing it against with my comments? no? well wtf are you on about

You provoked it then edited your comment you tit, and your the one that has brought saxo's into aswell by saying taht Steves car will perform better or something along those lines than a vts.

the first person to mention any other car was bubblevaux, then you and steve have done exactly what he predicted, and everyone else expected. everyone is used to it now, nothing can get posted on here without the usual suspects turning it into silly vts/106 arguments.

you provoked it Dave just like Joe said, its as simple as that, ive been reading stuff on my mates pc,

Its a good figure for a x16xe, but saying its around 800kg i very much doubt, JR took everythink possible out of his and it was 780..

it will be about 800kg.

it has the same level of strippage as JR's corsa, no dash, headlining... no nothing really.

it will be a little lighter than a vts, but not enough to make it faster. it wont be faster, monsters was similar weight with more power and he could only get the same time as rob

and also, "you drove it and it felt faster" of course a car with no interior and a loud exhaust will feel faster that a standard car with full interior and a quiet exhaust

i was comparing it the time of the corsa rather than the time itself

right, lets keep it simple.

steves car weighed less and made only 6bhp less that a saxo vts we had on today that made 120ish.

steves car held 110-114 bhp over about 1000 rpm to make peak power, the saxo made 120 but only for about 200 revs, it didnt retain the power, it made it and died off instantly. the saxo also only made decent torque for about 2000rpm, it was flat before that and after that, whereas steves made 110lb/ft and held it for 4000 rpm.

during the two power runs the corsa made a higher average bhp through the revs. other vts's may do differently, the one I am comparing it with WASNT as fast as steves corsa.

end of.
